About this deal

Multi-Functional: Rest combines nightlight, sound machine, and time-to-rise alert in one easy-to-use device that you can control from your phone! We also love using it for quiet time , as the easy-and fun-to use colors help kids learn when it's time to rise and shine, as well as when they should play quietly in their room.

We get a lot of questions about how to use the Hatch Rest at different ages and stages and what colors and settings we recommend. Within 2 nights (I'm not exaggerating) of having the Hatch baby Rest, even if she wakes up early, she lays peacefully until the light and music come on, before excitedly declaring "Light! I can turn on the “Toddler Lock” option from my phone, making it so pushing the buttons won’t affect the program at all.I wanted to test out the Hatch Baby Rest sound machine, as there are various sounds and you can control the volume, which was huge plus for me. I recommend using either the red or orange light colors on the lowest setting possible, as they have been found to promote sleep without disturbing melatonin levels. Our recommendation for using the Hatch Rest for older toddlers and preschoolers is to continue using the TV static with no light throughout the night (unless needed for the reasons below) and the birds and green light at their designated wake time. Rest Mini includes 1 free month of access to Hatch Premium, a snoozy library of content designed to help wind down, relax and get ready for sleep.

The Hatch Rest 2nd gen is still a solid option if you’re looking for a straight nightlight, sound machine, and OK-to-Wake device. The display has an auto dimming feature that dims and brightens the display depending on the available light in the room. We’re pretty minimal around here when it comes to baby gear, but one sleep product we absolutely LOVE is the Hatch Rest Sound Machine!

Bottom line: The sound quality and light options for the Hatch Baby Rest are excellent and I actually love using the app to control it.

My son LOVES hearing the ‘birds’ and he knows that when he hears the birds, he is allowed to come into our room and come get us for the morning. The nice thing is that you don’t have to incorporate the lights for a long time if you don’t want to - but having the noise machine option is great - especially since this gadget will be useful for years to come. I wished there could be a ‘night light’ setting and ‘lamp’ setting that I could switch back and forth from and also had brightness levels. So whether your baby is 3 months or your child is 4 years old, I recommend using the Hatch Baby Rest.

I have seen quite a few baby must have videos on you tube where they recommend a white noise machine. there are also several options in noises, and my son really enjoys the soothing music to wake up to. I LOVE that you don’t take yourself too seriously or think yourself (or your readers) above sprinkling in the occasional s- and f-bomb here and there because, frankly, sometimes that really is the most appropriate adjective!Instead of turning on an overhead light, lamp, or the TV - the red light on the Hatch is a perfect balance. Now it is a real adapter which is sturdier, more secure and less likely to get yanked out by my child.
